Hi everyone, just wanted to share my recent experience to receive an intership offer through Hire Diversity~
I have recently graduated from my MBA and was looking for an internship, either in a consultancy or a well funded start-up.
I found a job description (JD) on Hire Diversity that looked perfect, for a project management role with a Korean start-up medical devices company that has strong links with the UK. The JD was written in English, however, there was a requirement to speak Korean (I only have TOPIK Level III). Undeterred, I applied and had an interview 2 days later.
The interview went great and the next week I received an offer! The company ideally wants the intern to continue full-time after completion of the intership, however, in my case they have put a condition that I receive TOPIK level 5 by then. I think this is incredibly flexible and reasonable of the company, as they do require a Korean speaker, but they are giving me as a foreigner the chance to reach that level.
So my message would be to not be deterred by the seeming requirement for fluent Korean in companies here, but keep applying and you can find somewhere just like I have!
